Chapter 35: If You Don’t Kiss Me Now, Just Die

Wen Xueya woke up and saw Xie Qinghan. Rubbing his eyes, he asked in surprise, "Brother He? Why are you here too?" "I came to the Red Lotus Realm to search for treasures and happened to be teleported here by the array. How are you feeling now? Are you uncomfortable?" Wen Xueya tilted his head, thought for a moment, then leaned his head toward Xie Qinghan, mumbling, "Brother He, I don't feel well." Xie Qinghan reached out and touched his forehead, then pressed his own forehead against Wen Xueya's. After a moment, he frowned, "Your temperature is normal, no fever." Wen Xueya, having achieved his goal, curled his lips into a faint smile and said, "I feel fine now." Xie Qinghan: "..." Wen Xueya looked around, "Where is this?" "The Ghost Domain of the Red Lotus Realm." "Then there must be a Ghost King here, and the Fire Fusion Pill?" Xie Qinghan: "The Fire Fusion Pill, when combined with...

Chapter 20: Don't you like me

Wen Xueya was taken away, wrists tied and suspended. The whip, imbued with thunderous force, struck his back again and again, splattering blood and flesh.

Su Tong glanced at Xie Qinghan’s slightly pursed lips and joked, “Senior Brother, you’re not upset because Wen Xueya is being punished, are you?”

Xie Qinghan forced a laugh, “How could I be? He deserves it.”

Xiao Jinghan was about to step forward, but Luo Heming held him back by the shoulder, whispering, “Don’t interfere with Wan Jian Peak’s matters.”

Luo Yining couldn’t stand it any longer. She stepped forward and pushed the people from the Disciplinary Office, shouting, “Who allowed you to beat my junior brother! Let him go! ヾ(??▽?)ノ”

Luo Heming shot her a fierce glare, and she tearfully backed down.

Unfortunately, no one took her words to heart.

She, despite her dislike for Xie Qinghan, approached and pleaded, “Senior Brother, please say something! Your words will matter. Master is in seclusion, and only you can speak for Wan Jian Peak!”

Xie Qinghan remained unmoved.

Disappointed, Luo Yining said, “It’s not his fault he looks good. To impose false charges is despicable, Senior Brother!”

233 nervously whispered in Xie Qinghan’s ear, “Host, don’t go out of character. It’s just ten lashes. The protagonist has a strong fate and will be fine.”

Xie Qinghan knew Wen Xueya was watching him.

He avoided that persistent gaze and instructed Su Tong,“Take Wen Xueya back to Wan Jian Peak later and have him copy the rules a hundred times. I’ll personally inspect it in a month.”

He left Yutian Peak and flew on his sword to the sea of flowers at the foot of Baicao Peak.

The sound of a flute, melodious and distant, made him pause.

On an ancient tree, a young man in white sat on a branch, eyes closed, playing gracefully, the music particularly enchanting.

Sensing someone, the melody abruptly shifted.

He opened his eyes, cat-like with a hint of green, clear as emeralds.

A snowflake mark adorned his forehead, his nose was high, and the lower half of his face was covered with a white veil. His white robe was embroidered with silver patterns of unknown flowers.

Xie Qinghan gazed at those eyes, feeling a vague sense of familiarity.

The young man spoke first, "Sir, could you stay and chat with me for a while?"

Xie Qinghan found it strange. "Does no one usually talk with you?"

Maybe he was a disciple  from another peak, strictly supervised by his elders.

A trace of melancholy flashed in the young man's eyes. "I don't like talking with them. To be honest, I snuck out."

Xie Qinghan asked, "Which peak do you live on?"

"Yutian Peak."

Even though it was the territory of the sect leader, Xie Qinghan still offered, "If you want, I can ask your elders for permission to take you out to play."

"Can you really?"

The young man was momentarily overjoyed, but a strong sense of dizziness struck him. He held his temple and swayed. Xie Qinghan quickly steadied him.

"Yun Shu, you’re causing trouble for others again."

A cold voice came from behind. Zhuo Dongfeng smoothly took Yun Shu from Xie Qinghan’s arms.

Xie Qinghan felt a chill run down his spine. Despite his cultivation level, he hadn't sensed Zhuo Dongfeng approaching from behind.

Just how profound was Zhuo Dongfeng’s cultivation!

Xie Qinghan bowed. "Greetings, Sect Leader."

Zhuo Dongfeng nodded.

He picked Yun Shu up in his arms and said, "Yun Shu has troubled you. He is weak and shouldn't stay in the wind for too long. I'll take him back."

As Xie Qinghan watched the two leave, he called out, "My name is Xie Qinghan, chief disciple of Wan Jian Peak."

Yun Shu smiled, his eyes sparkling. "Nice to meet you, Qinghan."

Yutian Peak.

Zhuo Dongfeng punished all those who were supposed to watch over Yun Shu. The sounds of whipping could be heard outside the courtyard.

"It's because you were naughty that they are being punished."

Zhuo Dongfeng's tone was gentle, his gaze like that of an adult dealing with a child who didn’t understand.

Yun Shu clutched the blanket, feeling guilty. "…I’m sorry."

Zhuo Dongfeng grabbed his chin, his gaze turning dark and dangerous. "Why did you sneak out?"

Yun Shu sensed the temperature around him drop sharply, making him fearful. "Isn't it because you won’t let me out?"

"A-Yun, you need to be obedient. You just recovered from a serious injury and lost your memory. There are so many bad people outside. What if they hurt you? I’m only thinking of your well-being."

Yun Shu mumbled, "I vaguely feel like I have other family members. I want to find them."

Zhuo Dongfeng corrected him, "You have no other family! I’m the one who saved you!"

"Isn't it enough that I’m with you? Do you want to find another man? Is Xie Qinghan more handsome than me?"

The grip on Yun Shu’s chin tightened, causing him pain. His delicate features scrunched up in anger. "It has nothing to do with him! I’m just bored."

Zhu Dongfeng thought that he couldn't push too hard.

Even if Yun Shu had lost his memory, he still had the nature of a wolf, yielding to gentleness rather than force.

He changed to a gentle tone, his voice filled with tender affection like honeyed syrup. "It’s my fault. Don’t be angry, A-Yun. I just care about you too much and worry something might happen to you."

As he spoke, he reached into the young man’s clothes, skillfully teasing his sensitive spots.

Soon, Yun Shu’s breathing became erratic, his face flushed as he pushed Zhuo Dongfeng’s hand away. "Calm down, I don’t want to do this."

"Yun Shu... I love you so much. Don’t you like me?"

The man’s deep eyes were filled with Yun Shu’s reflection as he kissed his cheek lightly.

Yun Shu recalled how, when he had first woken up with no memories, he was sensitive, prone to crying, and afraid of the dark.

Zhuo Dongfeng had been there for him, serving tea, helping him dress, taking care of him meticulously.

His kindness outweighed his unkindness.

Zhuo Dongfeng was all he had.

Yun Shu said, "I do like you..."

Zhuo Dongfeng nibbled on his small earlobe, his voice husky and seductive, "A-Yun, help me, please."

...

Yun Shu moved violently on Zhuo Dongfeng’s lap, his pale face drenched in tears, sobbing quietly.

His delicate shoulder blades were covered in a thin sheen of sweat, his white thighs trembling slightly, his toes curling against the ground.

Yun Shu felt miserable inside, wanting to stop and say he didn’t want this anymore.

But he couldn’t bring himself to say it.

Zhuo Dongfeng turned his face towards him, kissed away his tears, and gave him a tender, lingering kiss.

He praised him, “Good boy.”

Suddenly, Yun Shu didn’t feel so bad anymore.

He was sick, and he didn’t know it.

At night, Xie Qinghan lay in bed, thinking again about Yun Shu.

Even though he hadn’t seen his whole face clearly, Yun Shu’s gaze was pure and healing, and his voice conjured images of all things warm.

Xie Qinghan asked, “Little Tongzi, is there a character like Yun Shu in the book?”

233 thought for a moment, “The book ended abruptly. After you entered this world, its lore was automatically completed. Yun Shu might be part of a hidden storyline, unrelated to Wen Xueya’s plot.”

At the time of the original character’s death, the book’s plot was only a third of the way through, so it wouldn’t have revealed the full scope of the world.

Plus, with the book’s abrupt ending, even the fate of the main characters was unknown.

But that didn’t matter to him. He just needed to play his role as cannon fodder, die, and return to the modern world.

He wanted to go home.

Xie Qinghan thought somewhat coldly, but he couldn’t help thinking about Yun Shu.

“Brother He, I want to see you.” A weak voice suddenly came through.

Xie Qinghan was startled and searched for the source of the voice.

Finally, he remembered he had given Wen Xueya a voice-transmitting jade talisman.

He was so anxious to get it out that it almost fell out of his arms.after  He finally managed to hold it tightly, just as he was about to speak, the system reminded him to change his voice.

Anxiously, Xie Qinghan asked, "What's wrong? Did something happen to you?"

"I just wanted to see Brother He," the voice sounded pitiful, with a strong tone of pleading.

After witnessing the murder scene firsthand, Xie Qinghan hadn't spoken to Wen Xueya for quite a while. Saying he wasn’t afraid would be a lie. Moreover, getting too close and developing feelings for someone who would eventually try to kill him was something Xie Qinghan wanted to avoid.

The scene of Wen Xueya gritting his teeth and enduring the lashes flashed in his mind, and guilt gnawed at him. After all, it was his fault Wen Xueya was injured.

On the other side, Wen Xueya, sensing He Mian's hesitation, painfully got out of bed and deliberately knocked over a table. The porcelain teapot rolled off and shattered into pieces.

Expressionless, he picked up a shard and slashed it across his arm.

A series of chaotic noises came from Xie Qinghan's end, followed by a stifled groan. The sound was laced with sobs and pleas, "Big Brother He, I fell and I'm bleeding a lot. Can I see you?"

Xie Qinghan's heart was in turmoil. Wen Xueya, already injured from the lashes, seemed to have hurt himself again.

"Where are you? I'll come to you!"
