Chapter 35: If You Don’t Kiss Me Now, Just Die

Wen Xueya woke up and saw Xie Qinghan. Rubbing his eyes, he asked in surprise, "Brother He? Why are you here too?" "I came to the Red Lotus Realm to search for treasures and happened to be teleported here by the array. How are you feeling now? Are you uncomfortable?" Wen Xueya tilted his head, thought for a moment, then leaned his head toward Xie Qinghan, mumbling, "Brother He, I don't feel well." Xie Qinghan reached out and touched his forehead, then pressed his own forehead against Wen Xueya's. After a moment, he frowned, "Your temperature is normal, no fever." Wen Xueya, having achieved his goal, curled his lips into a faint smile and said, "I feel fine now." Xie Qinghan: "..." Wen Xueya looked around, "Where is this?" "The Ghost Domain of the Red Lotus Realm." "Then there must be a Ghost King here, and the Fire Fusion Pill?" Xie Qinghan: "The Fire Fusion Pill, when combined with...

Chapter 17: He should have gone a little more than that...... Bully him

Xie Qinghan gradually calmed his mind.

The original book does not have the plot background that it should have, but instead talks at length about the love of various supporting characters for the protagonis, twhich left him feeling frustrated.

Even the identity of Wen Xueya's father was not mentioned in the book. It only said that Wen Xueya's mother was from the Wen clan of Fengling. After his mother died of illness, Wen Xueya was also expelled from the clan.

It was very likely that the person in front of him was Wen Xueya's opportunity.

Cang Mang scrutinized Wen Xueya through his dirty and messy hair, "What's your name?"

"Wen Xueya."

A sudden gleam appeared in Cang Mang's cloudy eyes as he exclaimed in shock, "You are from the Wen family of Fengling? Then do you know Wen Yuzhi?"

"Yuzhi is my mother's name."

"So you are her son... No wonder you resemble her."

The man murmured to himself, not answering his question, but urgently asking instead, "How is she now? Is she alright?"

His tone was full of concern.

Wen Xueya replied truthfully, "My mother passed away from illness eight years ago."

Cang Mang burst into rage, "Didn't anyone in the Wen family of Fengling treat her illness? Those useless people! What about your father? Where is Jun Wuheng?"

Xie Qinghan perked up his ears; he also wanted to know who Wen Xueya's father was.

Wen Xueya said calmly, "I don't know who my father is. I've never met him, and my mother never told me about him."

Cang Mang was silent for a moment. "Impossible."

If he truly was that person's son, there should be a demonic core in his dantian.

His eyes widened slightly, and his pitch-black pupils turned crimson.

He used a pupil technique to peer through flesh and blood directly into Wen Xueya's dantian, where he saw the sealed demonic core.

The son of the Demon Lord is born with a demonic core, and a great demon can confirm his true identity through his blood.

However, without a powerful demon to guide him in cultivating demon magic, the demonic core would only consume his life's energy, and he wouldn't live past the age of ten.

The demonic core was sealed, which allowed Wen Xueya to live healthily, but the side effect was that it made it difficult for him to gather spiritual power.

Cang Mang concluded, "You are Jun Wuheng's son."

Xie Qinghan had expected this; he knew Wen Xueya's father was not an ordinary person.

The Demon Lord Jun Wuheng was infamous, a fearsome figure capable of causing mass slaughter with a flick of his finger, but that was all in the past.

Jun Wuheng had long since disappeared, and now the Demon Domain was controlled by the Demon Clan elder, Nangong Ling.

Cang Mang spat, "That old fool, not even recognizing his own son! And to think I entrusted sister Yuzhi to him."

His cloudy eyes looked kindly at Wen Xueya. "I am nearing the end of my life and cannot leave this place. Today, I will unseal your demonic core and pass all my life's skills and cultivation to you. This will repay the friendship I had with your parents."

"Come closer."

Wen Xueya hesitated, glancing at Xie Qinghan, who nodded.

After all, Wen Xueya's desire was to become stronger. He was the most tragic yet resilient protagonist Xie Qinghan had ever seen.

Wen Xueya approached Cang Mang, and a vast, intricate array appeared at their feet, enveloping them in a purple light.

After a while, the light dimmed.

Cang Mang spat out a mouthful of blood. "The seal on your demonic core is lifted. With your talent, you will be able to fully grasp the techniques I've passed to you within a few days."

Wen Xueya's expression was chillingly indifferent. "Thank you, senior."

Cang Mang looked at him steadily, as if seeing someone else through him.

He sighed softly, "Yuzhi."

It seemed as if he was reliving their last meeting, helping the bride-to-be with her jade hairpin, secretly keeping one for himself, and watching her step into the bridal sedan, marrying his close friend.

"Sixteen years, I have come to see you."

A breeze blew, and his form dissipated into light smoke.

A jade hairpin fell among the leaves.

Wen Xueya remembered that his mother also had an identical hairpin, often worn at her temple, saying it was a gift from a sworn brother.

He seemed to understand something, yet nothing at all.

He looked away, slightly waved his hand, and used Cang Mang's technique to release the vines entangling Xie Qinghan.

The two left together, and the once vibrant ancient tree, deprived of demonic energy, withered and collapsed at a visible pace, burying the pristine jade hairpin under the dead branches and dust.

At noon, outside the forbidden area, the surroundings were eerily silent, just like when they had arrived.

"Task completed, awarded 500,000 points."

Upon hearing the task completion notification, Xie Qinghan exhaled deeply and said, "Since you are safe and sound, I will leave now."

Wen Xueya grabbed his sleeve and stared at him, "What's your name?"

Xie Qinghan made up an alias, "He Mian."

Seeing Wen Xueya’s confusion, Xie Qinghan took his hand and carefully wrote the characters for "He Mian" in his palm.

"He Mian..." Wen Xueya repeated softly, as if savouring each character.

He hid his cautious delight and deep possessiveness completely.

Listening to Wen Xueya repeatedly say his name, Xie Qinghan felt a strange sensation.

He sighed, "After all, Wen Xueya is just a child."

233 agreed, "Yes, aside from being a drama queen, black-hearted, paranoid, cold, unpredictable, and a bit cruel, he's still quite an innocent child."

Xie Qinghan: "..." He couldn't argue with that.

After a pause, 233 couldn't help but remind him, "But host, be careful with Wen Xueya, don’t get too close."

Just as Xie Qinghan was about to ask why, Wen Xueya sweetly called him, "Brother He."

He couldn't bear the responsibility of being a big brother, and it  felt rather  embarrassing

Xie Qinghan said, "…Don't call me that."

"How about Mian Mian, He He, A Mian, or A He? Which one do you like?"

Wen Xueya's voice was gentle and soft, with a lilting tone that was very seductive.

Even a straight man would be moved, not to mention if he were packaged and debuted in modern times, fans would be lining up to marry him.

Xie Qinghan felt his ears turn red, "…Just call me Brother He."

"Brother He, are you leaving again?"

"Yes."

Xie Qinghan forcibly ignored the reluctance in Wen Xueya’s eyes and turned to leave.

His current identity couldn’t be discovered by others, and being too close to Wen Xueya would make it difficult to "strike hard" and bully him in the future.

Watching him turn away, Wen Xueya’s eyes darkened slightly, and his fists clenched.

He curled his finger, and the vines underground silently slithered towards He Mian.

With a single command, the thorns would pierce that frail chest, blood would splatter, staining the white clothes like blooming red plums, and those gentle eyes would close forever.

Then he could turn He Mian into a specimen, hide him away, and keep him forever.

Anything he liked, he had to personally destroy, and people were no exception.

...

However, if He Mian didn't betray him, he wouldn't mind keeping him around.

Wen Xueya thought pitifully, retracting the vines.

"Then what about the next time we meet? What if I want to see you again?"

Xie Qinghan turned back to see Wen Xueya standing there, clutching his clothes, on the verge of tears, his lively eyes filled with sorrow and reluctance.

What a pitiful little thing.

So afraid!

Is this really the same Wen Xueya from their first meeting, the one who acted all "I'm so noble, you're not worthy of me"?

Xie Qinghan took out a pair of jade pendants engraved with Lingxiao flowers from his mustard seed pouch, handed one to Wen Xueya, and ruffled his soft hair. "If you want to see me, use the pendant to send me a message, and I'll come to see you."

Wen Xueya couldn't help but push his luck, "Can you hug me?"

Xie Qinghan chuckled, "Why are you acting like a little girl? Didn't you tell me to get lost before?"

He gave Wen Xueya a quick hug and then let go. "Is that okay?"

Wen Xueya nodded, blushing.

He recalled how he had pinned He Mian down when they first met...

Reflecting seriously, he said, "I was wrong. I shouldn't have treated you like that, Brother He."

He shouldn't have told He Mian to get lost; he should have gone even further and bullied him more.

"It's okay."

Xie Qinghan wouldn't blame him for that. On the contrary, he felt a bit sorry for Wen Xueya's insecurity.

After Xie Qinghan left, the innocent smile in Wen Xueya's eyes vanished completely, replaced by a ruthless malice beyond his years.

He had thought he would surely die when he fell into the forbidden area, but not only did he survive, he also inherited Cang Mang's cultivation.

It was time to plan how to settle old scores with Xie Qinghan and Chen Yue.

Chen Yue had to die, but Xie Qinghan—he wanted to see him ruined.

There was no need to rush; it would be much more enjoyable to slowly torment him...
